We've invented an Artform | Insects eat our leaves to create art

InsectTalent.org is built on collaboration with insects to create art using our new, patented* process: we guide insects to eat certain parts of leaves, and avoid other parts, leaving behind finished artwork, in a process that sees ordinary leaves transformed into meaningful works of art.

Insects are our Co-Creators, and are not harmed.

We cannot live without insects:
Id  celebrates the contributions of our diverse and crucial insect populations, and raises awareness of the existential threat to humanity posed by the rapid decline of our planet’s insects due to insecticide overuse, habitat destruction, etc.

Insect Talent is committed to raising awareness of the issue.

Facts and Predictions

We cannot live without insects

"If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then, man would have only 4 years of life left: no more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man." - Albert Einstein

Statistics:
- Butterflies and moths are among the worst hit. For example, the number of widespread butterfly species fell by 58% on farmed land between 2000 and 2009. - More than 40% of insect species are declining and a third are endangered, the analysis found. The rate of extinction is eight times faster than that of mammals, birds and reptiles. The total mass of insects is falling by a precipitous 2.5% a year, according to the best data available, suggesting they could vanish within a century. - The Guardian Fun Facts: - Caterpillars have 12 eyes, yet they are legally blind. - Butterflies taste with their feet. - Grasshoppers existed before dinosaurs. - Ants carry up to twenty times their own body weight. If a human could lift twenty times their body weight that would be about 4,000 pounds...more than the average car. - Silk is probably the strongest natural textile in the world; it is made by a bug. Insect Apocalypse 41% of insect species have seen steep declines in the past decade, with similar drops forecast for the near future. 40% of the world's insects are now threatened with extinction." - The Smithsonian, Entomologist Jason Daley "I do not like bugs, creepy, many-legged things make my skin crawl, but, as unpleasant as they are, insects are absolutely crucial for our world's ecosystems to function, and, sadly, the creatures' populations are on the verge of collapse." - Biologist Dharna Noor, Earther, "I don't Like Bugs"

https://insecttalent.org/, its artworks and the process, are protected by the US Patent and Trademark Office #63/257,059.

Insects are not drawn to candle flames, they are drawn to the light on the far side of the flame, they go into the flame and sizzle to nothingness because they're so eager to get to the light on the other side.”

Michael Cunningham, By Nightfall

Insecticides, light pollution,  corporate agriculture...are causing Earth to lose probably 1% to 2% of its insects each year.
